NFL Will Reinstate Plaxico Burress After 2 Year Sentence

Over the past couple of days I have been reading a lot and hearing a lot about the Plaxico Burress case and all of the other legal issues of the NFL. The most beautiful words that I have heard were that the NFL will reinstate Plax upon his completion of his sentence. I was really annoyed when Roger Goodell interfered with the legal process and decided to further suspend Mike Vick after spending 18 months in federal prison and another 5 months in home confinement after 2 years out of football. I felt he over stepped his bounds and Plax may be reaping the rewards of his out of bound stepping.

Now to some of the more annoying things that I have read and/or heard over the past couple of days. The NFL Players Association has publicly announced that they have a problem with the disciplinary system and fining of players. This is too little too late. This is another reactionary approach that turns so many entities into inept battleships that take a half an hour to make a turn that should be instantaneous. It is no secret that I have a problem with any type of union whether it is the NFLPA or the teamsters. In light of all of this talk about their issues with the NFL disciplinary system, there is a growing brush fire of talk about a lockout in 2011. This really pisses me off. Does the union care about the system because of their pending lockout in 2 years or is it because a unions only true function is to get more money and nothing more. Their function is to destroy American businesses just like GM. I would rather not hear the crap coming out of the offices of the NFLPA and I really wish that the new president would not use the late Gene Upshaw's name as leverage to find favor with players. He has no idea what GU would do or how he would react. He was an icon and had unparalleled success as the union president whether I agreed or not.

The other issue that I have had over the past couple days is the public outrage in reaction to Plaxico Buress' sentence of 2 years. Are you freaking kidding me? It was the public outrage that got Plaxico this sentence in the first place. If it weren't for the 20 term mayor in New York, Mike Bloomberg, this 2 year sentence and likely any jail time at all would not have happened. i personally felt that Plax should be punished for being one of the dumbest players in history and he was. I also feel that he should be left alone afterwards which he will but the problem now is that folks want to get a little bit pregnant. OJ Simpson serves no time for murder, nor did Ray Lewis, Donte Stallworth gets 30 days for killing a man, Mike Vick gets 23 months for killing dogs and Plax gets 2 years for shooting himself. You do the math. It's politics and good lawyers that determine your sentence. It's our justice system that we all conveniently side with when it works and are against when it doesn't. If Plaxico Burress is stupid enough to shoot himself like cheddar bob in Eight Mile and too stupid to not have a lawyer who has half a brain and can keep a millionaire athlete out of prison for something that hand to hand crack dealers in Brownsville, Brooklyn can beat than he deserves what he gets.

Football is football, the law is the law, Roger Goodell is a douche and the unions are greedy. This is my assessment, completely baseless and without evidence, but it is mine.
