Arman WaliaMar 28, 2015

To most people, f--k is a bad word. To Canadian college basketball player Guilherme Carbagiale, it's his last name.

For the past two years, Guilherme has gone by Guilherme Carbagiale at the demands of his coach, even though his last name is actually Fuck. The Medicine Hat College forward spoke to CBC News to explain the situation.

"I played in a very small city," said Fuck. "To avoid community conflict, they asked me to go by my first and middle name."

His last name is officially pronounced "Foo-key" and means "fox" in German, according to Medicine Hat News. After a while, Guilherme finally had enough and wanted to use his last name on the roster and in the media. After moving to Alberta, Canada, in 2014 to play for the Medicine Hat Rattlers, his wish came true.

“It’s my last name, I’m proud of it. Doesn’t matter if it means something bad,” he told CBC News.

If you think this is just a one-time thing, guess again. Guilherme told CBC News that he plans to have kids and spread his last name.

Naturally, newspapers had some fun with the story:
