Thierry Henry Warns France Fans That They Should Appreciate Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Thierry Henry has s simple message for the French public and their unsettled relationship with PSG star Zlatan Ibrahimovic: love him, embrace him.
He won't be around forever.
Ever since the aftermath of Ibrahimovic's tirade against a French referee following a PSG loss to Bordeaux, Ibrahimovic has been in an unpleasant spotlight in France.
Henry, a Frenchman who is no stranger to controversy, spoke up in defence of Ibrahimovic in an interview with L'Equipe (h/t Daily Mail), reminding Ligue 1 fans that they may not always be graced with a talent such as Ibrahimovic's.
The two played together at Barcelona in 2009 and 2010.
"Zlatan is an extraordinary guy. He is incredibly kind and we laughed a lot together.
The people in France should make up their mind about what they really want. First they were complaining about the lack of big stars in Ligue 1 and now they have a player of Ibrahimovic's stature, they are complaining about him again.
He is an amazing player, someone really special who has marked an era. He has won league titles wherever he went.
Of course, he can be quite temperamental. He says what he thinks, but that has never bothered me. There are not a lot of players with his character. People in France should enjoy Ibrahimovic while it lasts.
