WWE WrestleMania 2015: Stars Who Will Shine in Defeat at Showcase

WrestleMania is the biggest stage in all of wrestling, and the 2015 edition of WWE's marquee pay-per-view will feature top stars who will shine despite taking a defeat on Sunday night.

From Triple H to Seth Rollins to Rusev, expectations for many of the hottest Superstars are low because of the predicted losses, but the caliber of talent on display will help each man overcome the agony of defeat waiting for them at WWE’s PPV showcase.

Here are the wrestlers who will take a loss and still look strong at WrestleMania 31.

Triple H

Despite Sting getting the upper hand throughout the entire feud with Triple H, there are few wrestling fans who can imagine the WCW legend taking a loss in his first WWE match.

While every sign points to Triple H suffering the loss, he is a legend of the business and knows how to tell a convincing story in the ring. Win or lose, Triple H is an expert at playing the quintessential heel, and the resulting bout should be unforgettable.

Both Sting and Triple H understand the magnitude of Sunday’s match, and each man will do whatever he can to ensure the one-on-one battle goes down in history as one of the greatest moments in wrestling history.

Triple H will take the loss Sunday, but not before putting on an incredible performance.

Seth Rollins

After watching Seth Rollins get the upper hand on Randy Orton time and time again over the last several months—when Orton was there, at least—the WWE Universe will be waiting to see the face finally get his chance at redemption.

Rollins taking the loss is the likely outcome in this match, but the Money in the Bank briefcase holder will look strong in defeat due to his skills in the ring and the talent of the man he will be squaring off against.

With so many other matches on the card, expectations for Rollins vs. Orton aren’t as high as they should be considering the caliber of talent in the match. The low excitement level for the brawl should give it the perfect opportunity to stun the fans and be one of the best bouts on the card.

Even when he takes the loss, Rollins will look strong—especially if the loss to Orton is a distraction for the eventual cash-in attempt many members of the WWE Universe have been calling for at WrestleMania 31.

Rusev

After a year of being booked as a dominant force and boasting a record without a pinfall or submission loss, it all comes to an end for Rusev when he steps into the ring against John Cena for the United States Championship on Sunday.

After Rusev destroyed Cena on the go-home episode of Raw, there are few wrestling fans who think The Bulgarian Brute has any chance to walk out of WrestleMania with a victory, even if Lana comes back to help him.

Cena is the face of the company. He was handed one of the worst beatings he’s received since Brock Lesnar almost tore him in half at SummerSlam, and traditional WWE booking suggests he needs to overcome the odds.

Despite Super Cena undoubtedly pulling out the win, Rusev is still one of the strongest heels in the company. Seeing as how the heel in this feud earned a victory at Fastlane and the face will pick up the win at WrestleMania 31, Rusev must bounce back and beat Cena at Extreme Rules.
