An Analysis Of The Matt Hardy Situation in The WWE

The situation with Matt Hardy is definitely an intriguing one within the WWE.  His career has been full of more ups and downs than anyone else I can remember in recent history.  He has had public disputes over Lita with Edge in the past that were very real, he has suffered a couple injuries that could have ended his career, and to top things off, he has apparently been dealing with a physical issue since he started wrestling.

Matt is by far one of the most popular wrestlers in the WWE.  His ability in the ring and on the mic are by no means the best in the business, but what he is best at is connecting with the fans on a personal and very real level.  Since he and Jeff were both brought back to the WWE, they have both had great singles runs as well as a tag team run with the titles.  Matt has won The WCW, WWE and World tag titles, the cruiserweight title, the European title, the US title, the hardcore title, and the ECW title, that is quite a career. 

One has to wonder what is next for Matt Hardy.  He has tried the heel role and that didn’t quite work out.  What I hope is that Matt does two things, one is get back into the shape he needs to be in to compete at the top level, and the second is to come up with a few new moves to wow the audience.  I love the twist of fate, side effect and corner close line bulldog combo, but he needs to keep evolving in order to gain that extra little bit needed to become a world champion. 

If Matt does these things I can only see him going higher and higher within the ranks of the WWE.  And lets face it, Matt can be considered a veteran by now considering his lengthy history with wrestling, we need some guys who have been around a little bit to step up and take the gold from guys like HHH and the Undertaker who are on the last legs of their careers so to speak.  Matt deserves the push as much as anybody, he just needs to remind the guys behind the scenes as to why.
