Drummond Active vs. Knicks

Wednesday, Nov. 16

Head coach Stan Van Gundy said Drummond will play against the New York Knicks on Wednesday, per James Hawkins of the Detroit News.

Drummond Is Irreplaceable for Pistons

This would have been a devastating blow for the Pistons if Drummond missed significant time, especially since his durability has proved to be so valuable over the last three years. He played all 82 games in 2014-15 and 81 games in both 2013-14 and 2015-16.

Drummond is a walking double-double, averaging 16.2 points and a league-leading 14.8 rebounds per game in 2015-16. He also swatted 1.4 shots per game as the team's primary rim protector.

The Pistons don't have any other center who can impact the game like the 23-year-old does.

Detroit has enough talent to compete in the Eastern Conference and challenge for a favorable spot in the playoffs, but it needs Drummond healthy to do so.
