Report: Bills to Discuss New Contract for Bradham
Monday, March 23
A source tells ESPN.com's Mike Rodak that the Bills are likely to commence contract extension talks with Bradham at the NFL owners meeting this week.
The 25-year-old former fourth-round pick is entering a contract year in 2015, and it seems Buffalo is keen to keep him around for the long haul before he can hit unrestricted free agency next offseason.
NFL.com's Chris Trapasso weighed in on Monday's report:
Bradham made 14 starts for the Bills in 2014 and racked up 104 combined tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception. He was a big reason Buffalo's linebacker corps was able to absorb the season-long loss of Kiko Alonso, who was traded to Philadelphia this offseason.
Since the Bills boast arguably the NFL's best defensive front, it's easy to lose someone like Bradham in the shuffle. The front office evidently sees Bradham's value, and the young playmaker figures to thrive under new head coach and defense guru Rex Ryan.
