Per the Times' Tony Barrett, the Reds star was described as a "doubt" by manager Jurgen Klopp in his press conference on Friday ahead of the game at Carrow Road because of a "muscle problem."

With Brendan Rodgers deploying Lallana in various roles throughout the previous term and a few injury niggles sapping any momentum accrued from a prolonged run of games, we were always unlikely to see the best of this fine talent until the 2015-16 season.

In Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho, Klopp has attacking midfielders who are stylistically comparable to the former Southampton man. But for a player still searching for a defined role in this Reds squad, any injury setback represents a substantial blow.
