Minnesota Timberwolves guard Gary Neal has been held out of action after injuring his ankle in the team's 109-98 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on March 22.

Neal Out vs. Pelicans

Sunday, April 12

The Timberwolves announced Neal would not play against the Pelicans on April 13.

Neal evidently tried to battle through a nagging ankle issue Sunday and couldn't quite do it although he did have 11 points in 21 minutes before being forced to exit the hardwood in pain.

It actually behooves Minnesota to have fewer assets to win in the short term. The worse its overall record is, the better the odds become to land higher in the NBA draft lottery, which is about all the Timberwolves can hope for at this point in the lost 2014-15 season.
