Best Possible Outcomes for Brock Lesnar in the Main Event of WWE WrestleMania 31

Donald WoodMar 20, 2015

Many fans have grown tired of the part-time appearances of world heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, but he will play a major role in how the WWE Universe views WrestleMania 31 in the annals of time.

Lesnar will defend the world title in the main event against 2015 Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns, but there are major questions about whether he will re-sign with the WWE or eventually jump ship to the UFC.

Here are the best possible outcomes for Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 31.

Lesnar Retains and Re-Signs

There are endless possibilities for how the main event might shake out, but the best option for Lesnar would be re-signing long term with the WWE and successfully retaining the world title by beating Reigns clean.

Whether or not you like Lesnar's schedule, there is no denying how dominant he has been as the company's champion. From beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30 to dominating John Cena in a way few other wrestlers have, Lesnar is the strongest force in wrestling.

The WWE loves throwing fans a major swerve or two at WrestleMania. If there are second thoughts from officials backstage about putting the belt around the waist of an inexperienced wrestler such as Reigns, allowing Lesnar to retain isn't a terrible game plan.

Seth Rollins and his Money in the Bank briefcase offer the perfect opportunity to take the title off Lesnar without making the champion look weak. Regardless of which wrestler Lesnar would take on next, Rollins holds the ultimate trump card.

In the meantime, you can't argue with Lesnar as a believable champion.

Lesnar Makes Roman Reigns a Star

Winning outright is the best possible option for Lesnar, but the outcome of the WrestleMania main event that would make the most sense for everyone involved would be the champion taking the clean loss and putting over Reigns.

Reigns has been booked as one of the top stars moving into the future, and beating a bona fide pay-per-view draw of Lesnar's caliber would instantly give the Royal Rumble winner the credibility he needs as a champion.

There are questions about how well Reigns can perform in the ring under the bright lights of a WrestleMania main event, but Lesnar proves every time he steps in the ring that he knows how to tell a convincing story through his actions.

Whether Lesnar re-signs with the WWE or jumps ship to UFC, giving Reigns the ultimate rub would be the ideal way for the champion to give back to the company that bestowed the honor of ending The Undertaker’s streak upon him.

It’s hard to imagine Lesnar losing, but dropping the belt to Reigns is the correct booking.
