WSB-2 in Atlanta added that Palmer broke the new girlfriend's arm with a baseball bat and that she had access to a knife, bat and gun when confronting Walden and his new girlfriend.

NBC 11 in Atlanta reported that Palmer had the couple's two kids in the car when she attacked the pair.

In December 2011, Walden was arrested and charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct-domestic abuse for allegedly striking Palmer, who was then identified as his girlfriend, per The Associated Press (via ESPN.com):

"

According to the complaint, Palmer originally told police that Walden pushed her, causing her to fall and hit a bed post and cut her forehead. Palmer said she then attempted to punch Walden in self-defense.

The complaint says that once Palmer found out Walden would be arrested, she began to change her story to say instead that she provoked Walden.

"

Two months after the charge, Walden received a deferred judgment and was forced to complete 50 hours of community service as part of his plea agreement. The NFL also suspended him for the first game of the 2012 season.

The 29-year-old has spent the last two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, with whom he started 29 regular-season games between 2013 and 2014. Over his seven-year career, Walden has played for four different teams and appeared in 110 games.
