Kentucky Fan Gets '40-0' 2015 NCAA Championship Tattoo

Dan CarsonMar 19, 2015

According to recent reports, the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team will win the 2015 NCAA tournament and continue on to the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, which they will also win en route to the program’s first Larry O’Brien trophy.

After this, Kentucky will rent a row boat, travel back in time and make funny faces as they pass the Winkelvoss twins to win gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. But before all this can happen, the Wildcats have to get that first title—a bet one Kentucky fan is wagering in ink.

Yep, the latest and potentially less-than-greatest in fan-championship tattoos is here, and it even comes with a preplanned emergency exit strategy.

WLKY reporter Marissa Alter brings word of Rock Wright, a Kentucky superfan with ink on his leg prophesying a perfect 40-0 run for the Wildcats through the NCAA tournament.

Alter tweeted that Wright has backup plans should the Wildcats drop the ball. He’ll consider reverting it into a chunky homage for the 2012 Wildcats.

Does this cheapen the ploy? I submit it does.

Win or lose, wear that ink with pride, sir. A Wildcats fan named Tyler Black kept his 2014 title tattoo after the No. 8 seed Wildcats came just short of knocking off UConn in the national championship game. That was a magical run. No shame in keeping that one.

So keep the hope alive, Kentucky fans. And pray you don’t pull an Iowa State-UAB or Duke-Lehigh.

Dan is on Twitter. Build the Calipari statue already.
