NFL Mock Draft 2015: Projections for 1st-Round Prospects in Midst of Free Agency

Analyzing Selections Impacted by Free Agency
Before free agency began, team needs across the league were pretty clear. However, one week into free agency, things have been shaken up by a slew of trades and signings. With roster needs now altered, the outlook for the draft's first round has changed significantly.
Here's a look at some key examples of selections that have been updated following recent offseason transactions.
12. Cleveland Browns: DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville

Interestingly enough, this selection didn't change due to Cleveland's offseason activity—it's a ripple effect from moves made by the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings were in the market for a wide receiver, but they managed to add Mike Wallace via a trade with the Miami Dolphins. With that need met, Mike Zimmer can focus on another big need and grab a pass-rusher at No. 11.
As luck would have it, that leaves DeVante Parker on the board for the wide receiver-needy Browns. The 6'3", 209-pound receiver is a polished product who catches everything in his vicinity. He's strong enough to make plays over the middle and quick enough to get vertical. Parker will be able to contribute immediately in Cleveland, allowing the Browns to move on from Josh Gordon.
Previous pick: Vic Beasley, OLB, Clemson
16. Houston Texans: La'el Collins, OT, LSU

The Texans made some solid free-agency signings, bringing in wide receiver Cecil Shorts, defensive tackle Vince Wilfork and safety Rahim Moore. Filling needs at those positions paved the way for Houston to upgrade its offensive line by adding former LSU Tiger La'el Collins.
While the Texans are in good shape at tackle with the re-signing of Derek Newton, the 6'4", 305-pound Collins is well-suited to play guard in the NFL. Sliding him inside at left guard would immediately upgrade the interior of the offensive line and add some physicality in the running game.
Previous pick: Landon Collins, S, Alabama
17. San Diego Chargers: Malcom Brown, DT, Texas

San Diego appeared suited to go after a wide receiver to complement Keenan Allen. Well, that was exactly the case, as the Chargers brought in Jacoby Jones and Stevie Johnson, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, via free agency. With depth at that position now looking good, San Diego can focus on locking down the interior of its defensive line.
Malcom Brown has the potential to become a long-term starter for the Chargers, as his 6'2", 319-pound frame, solid burst off the line and raw power should allow him to play multiple positions along the defensive line. He's a penetrating lineman and will significantly improve San Diego's pass rush.
Previous pick: Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State
20. Philadelphia Eagles: Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State

The Eagles have already made a bevy of moves during the free-agency period, bringing in quarterback Sam Bradford, running back DeMarco Murray, cornerback Byron Maxwell and others. However, the team lost wide receiver Jeremy Maclin to the Kansas City Chiefs and has yet to fill his shoes. Well, it just so happens there's a great replacement on the board at No. 20 overall.
At 6'2" and 217 pounds, Jaelen Strong looks to be a perfect complement to Jordan Matthews. The Arizona State product is a very physical player who isn't afraid to challenge defenders. He has great length, good leaping ability and a huge catch radius, making him a dangerous red-zone threat and an instant contributor in Philadelphia's offense.
Previous pick: Marcus Peters, CB, Washington
