Barkley on Block, Tebow Could be 3rd Eagles QB

Bleacher Report insider Jason Cole reports the latest on Barkley's future—or lack thereof—in Philadelphia and addresses the possibility of Tebow making an NFL return with the Eagles:
Dianna Marie Russini of NBC4 in D.C. placed odds on the likelihood of Tebow replacing Barkley if the latter is traded:
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Tebow worked out for the Eagles on Monday but later added Philadelphia didn't have plans to sign Tebow "at this time."
Those last three words comprised the operative phrase, because now it appears Barkley's days in Philly may be numbered before they even really began in favor of a Tebow revival.
Barkley was chosen in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL draft. Had he not opted to stay at USC for an extra year, he might have been a first-rounder, but Barkley's lack of playing time in the pros to date suggests the evaluation of him was ultimately accurate.
Turning just 25 in September, there is still plenty of time for Barkley to prove himself as a viable NFL player. With Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez ahead of him on the Eagles depth chart, though, there didn't figure to be much of an opportunity for Barkley to see the field in 2015 or thereafter.
Tebow hasn't played in an NFL regular-season game since 2012, but his work with Tom Brady's personal coach, Tom House, may allow him to resume his career on the gridiron if Barkley is traded.
