WWE WrestleMania 31: Best Potential Uses for NXT Stars at PPV Showcase

The 2015 edition of WrestleMania 31 is the opportunity for many wrestlers on the main roster to showcase themselves after a year of hard work, but the talent at NXT is also looking to make an impact on the WWE Universe.

There are plenty of ways to incorporate NXT talent throughout the WrestleMania card, but the company must find the right balance. The stars on the main roster deserve to shine first, but there is no denying the ability and popularity of many wrestlers in the WWE’s minor league system.

Here are the best potential uses for NXT Superstars at WrestleMania 31.

A Pre-Show Showcase Match

One of the best uses of NXT talent at WrestleMania would be in a multi-man match on the two-hour pre-show. Just as the company used an NXT showcase to tease a live event on the WWE Network, the bookers can do it again.

The knee injury to NXT world champion Kevin Owens will keep him off this show, but that doesn’t mean four other wrestlers from the brand don’t deserve the honor. Since a Fatal 4-Way worked so well last time, the WWE should go to the well again.

This time, the four combatants should be Sami Zayn, Finn Balor (and his elaborate entrance), Adrian Neville and Tyler Breeze. The mixture of heels and faces as well as different in-ring styles would result in one of the most exciting battles on the entire card.

Placing this bout on the pre-show wouldn’t force any hardworking main-roster wrestlers off the WrestleMania card, and would give the company another chance to sell NXT and the WWE Network.

Adrian Neville Joins the IC Title Ladder Match

The Intercontinental Championship Ladder match currently has seven competitors, and one way to add an NXT Superstar onto the WrestleMania card would be to add former champion Adrian Neville to the title bout as the eighth man.

The Ladder match is already stacked with elite talent like Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose, but the addition of a high-flyer like Neville would add an element of the unknown to the match.

The bout has been thrown together thus far, so a last-second addition would be no surprise.

Booking Neville to lose in his first true main-roster match may be hard to fathom, but in a multi-man match anything can happen, and taking the loss isn’t so bad. The hope is that Neville would eventually feud with one of the men in this match after they cost him the win in his WrestleMania debut.

Charlotte Cleans House in Divas Division

There are few stars who have been as dominant over the last year as Charlotte has been in the NXT women’s division. After main eventing some of the weekly episodes and putting on show-stealing matches at the live events, the WWE Divas have been put on notice.

The current booking of the WWE Divas division is appalling, a fact that will be put on full display in a tag team match that means nothing between the Bella Twins against Paige and AJ Lee.

After the four Divas booked in the tag match beat each other down for several minutes, Charlotte’s music should hit. With the class of her father, Ric Flair, she should strut to the ring and show off her size advantage over the other women. 

With the other Divas fighting among themselves, Charlotte could take them out one-by-one before eventually hitting the Natural Selection on Paige or AJ to begin a singles feud.

Letting the newest main-roster Diva stand tall at WrestleMania is unorthodox, but this is a Flair we’re talking about.
