Gregory Tested Positive for Marijuana at NFL Combine
Wednesday, March 25
Kimberley Jones of NFL.com reported that Gregory failed a test for marijuana at the combine in February:
"Gregory confirmed the positive test to NFL Media on Wednesday afternoon in an interview at his agent's home office in suburban Atlanta.
"I blame myself," Gregory said. "And I know it sounds cliché, but there's really no one else I can blame."
Gregory officially learned of his failed test about two weeks ago, during a phone call with his father. Believing he had received a letter from the NFL inviting him to attend the draft, Gregory asked his father to open the envelope. It wasn't a draft invitation.
"It said I failed a drug test," he said.
Gregory said he has not smoked marijuana since December, but because his THC levels were so elevated, the drug remained in his system at the combine. Thus, the positive test.
"I was worse at Nebraska than I've ever been at any other time of my life," Gregory said. "But I know how I am now. I think if teams really look at how I am now more so than the past, they'll see I'm making strides to get better, as a person and as a player."

Miller: Jaguars a Good Fit for Gregory
Tuesday, March 17
Pressuring the quarterback is hugely important in the NFL these days, which is why there is so much emphasis placed on players like Gregory in the draft.
As seen in this video, Bleacher Report's Matt Miller believes that Gregory's skill set would mesh well with and be attractive to the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 3:
Miller and Bleacher Report NFL Analyst Chris Simms debated on this year's top edge-rushers, including Gregory:
The Jags have a defensive-minded head coach in Gus Bradley, and it never hurts to have an extra pass-rusher in a division that features Indianapolis Colts' superstar quarterback Andrew Luck.
Gregory is a versatile player who can line up at either linebacker or defensive end, and that figures to work well in Bradley's scheme since he likes to throw different looks at opposing offenses.
After grabbing its quarterback of the future in Blake Bortles last year, Jacksonville can afford to continue building on the defensive side of the ball.
If Gregory is as good as advertised, then the Jags could potentially work their way back to playoff contention in the near future.
