NFL Free Agents 2015: Predictions for Top Names Involved in Week 2 Rumors
It's Week 2 of NFL free agency and things show no sign of slowing down.
There's the NFL Veteran Combine to look forward to on March 22, but even before the inaugural event takes place, many high-profile names are still making the rounds trying to find new homes.
Sneaky additions rule the market at this point. There's not a Darrelle Revis or DeMarco Murray on the market anymore.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
What teams can do, though, is pick up strong complementary pieces to help round out a roster built through the draft.
With the approach in mind, there are a few top players to watch as their names continue to show up on the rumor mill.
Terence Newman, CB

Free agents don't come much more reliable than cornerback Terence Newman.
Now 36 years old, Newman spent the first nine years of his career with the Dallas Cowboys before signing on with the Cincinnati Bengals. There, Newman was a rock for three seasons, as the numbers show:
| 2012 | 75 | 2 |
| 2013 | 52 | 2 |
| 2014 | 72 | 1 |
Newman isn't ready to hang up the cleats just yet. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Newman has a couple of potential destinations in mind:
The former Kansas State star still offers plenty of value from a depth standpoint considering last season he ranked just outside of the top 50 players at the position at Pro Football Focus.
It's interesting that Newman will spend time with the New England Patriots. The Minnesota Vikings are the obvious end destination thanks to the presence of coach Mike Zimmer, who coached Newman both in Dallas and Cincinnati as defensive coordinator.
Look for Newman to reunite with Zimmer once again.
Prediction: Newman signs with Minnesota.
Anthony Spencer, DE

It's a bit of a surprise defensive end Anthony Spencer is still on the open market.
Spencer isn't a marquee name in the same vein as, say, Justin Houston or Jason Pierre-Paul, but he did rank as the No. 21 4-3 end at PFF last year. The 31-year old veteran offers plenty of value for a team in need of depth.
Perhaps the market now has Spencer on the radar, though, as Rapoport notes the Seattle Seahawks want a visit with the former Purdue star:
The Seahawks are great at veteran pass-rush finds (Cliff Avril, anyone?), so it's a good sign for Spencer that Seattle shows an interest.
Spencer touts 33 sacks over the course of his eight-year career, so it's a matter of time before he finds a new home. If Seattle is the first visit on his tour, it's hard to imagine he goes anywhere else.
Prediction: Spencer signs with Seattle.
Mason Foster, LB

The market for run-stuffing inside linebackers never draws "oohs" and "aahs" per se, but it's strange that Mason Foster doesn't have a contract with a team yet.
| 2011 | 84 | 2.0 | 1 | 1 |
| 2012 | 105 | 2.0 | 0 | 1 |
| 2013 | 92 | 2.0 | 1 | 3 |
| 2014 | 62 | 0.0 | 0 | 0 |
Just 26 years old, Foster spent a productive four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before hitting free agency. While he did rank as the No. 43 insider linebacker at PFF last year, it's hard to name a wealth of players on the two-win Buccaneers who graded in a strong manner.
The silence around Foster's market broke Monday, although not to offer great news. ESPN's Michael C. Wright revealed negotiations between Foster and the Chicago Bears fell flat:
It's good news Foster is at least in talks with a team with the second week of free agency underway.
The next step is finding a home.
Chicago may want to hurry, though, as John Devine of the Monterey County Herald suggests another team may enter the fray soon:
The San Francisco 49ers won't have any qualms about outbidding other teams or giving Foster what he wants at this point—not after the sudden retirements of Patrick Willis and Chris Borland.
Look for San Francisco's sudden interest to rip Foster away from Chicago.
Prediction: Foster signs with San Francisco.
