Owens Has Meniscectomy on Knee
Monday, March 16
WWE.com's Bobby Melok reported doctors performed a partial meniscectomy last week on Owens' knee. The procedure is done to repair a torn meniscus and involves removing a part of the meniscus itself.
Since it was only a partial procedure and not a full meniscectomy, his recovery time should be shorter, but he opens himself up more for future injuries down the road.
"I'm not the kind of person that lets things like this get in my way," said Owens in the WWE.com article. "I'm already walking around without crutches and doing physical therapy at the WWE Performance Center."
Obviously, if Owens is forced to miss a lot of time, it will change WWE's plans with the NXT title. The nature of the NXT shooting schedule, though, might allow Owens to have the necessary time to recuperate without altering the long-term direction both for the belt and Owens.
