Chris Paul Injury: Updates on Clippers Star's Hamstring and Return

Mike ChiariMay 2, 2015

Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul has been healthy and productive all season, but the 30-year-old veteran has Lob City fans concerned after he suffered a hamstring injury in Los Angeles' Game 7 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on May 2.

Paul finished the game after going to the locker room with the injury. However, the star point guard missed Games 1 and 2 of his team's second-round series against the Houston Rockets. He will return to the lineup for Game 3.

Paul Will Play in Game 3 vs. Rockets

Friday, May 8

Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said on Friday that Paul will play in Game 3, though he'll be on restricted minutes, via the team's official Twitter account.

Durability has been an issue for CP3 at certain points over the course of his career due to his diminutive size (6'0", 175 lbs), but nothing has been further from the truth in 2014-15. In fact, Paul hadn't missed a game all year before the first two games of the Clippers-Rockets series.

Paul missed 20 contests last season and had never played in more than 70 games in a single campaign during his previous three years with the Clippers. However, CP3 has proved to be a true warrior this year, which is a big reason the team didn't miss a beat earlier in the season when forward Blake Griffin sat out for several games with injuries of his own.
