Anthony Crolla Medically Cleared to Resume Boxing After December Assault
After having his boxing career put in serious doubt, England's Anthony Crolla has announced that he has been cleared to return to the ring.
According to SkySports.com, the 28-year-old star suffered a fractured skull in December when he was attacked by burglars who he confronted in his neighbor's garden.
It seemed possible that he would have to step away from the sport he loves, but Crolla revealed that his injury has healed to the point where he can resume his boxing career:
Following that announcement, Crolla also made it clear that he shouldn't have any issues getting sanctioned to compete:
Crolla boasts an impressive career record of 29-4-2, and he is currently the reigning WBO Inter-Continental Lightweight champion.
The Manchester native is an extremely popular fighter overseas, and there is no question that he will have a ton of fans behind him when he ultimately steps back into the ring.
Crolla still has plenty of work to do before getting to that point, but he is one step closer after receiving a clean bill of health.
