Adrien Broner Facing OVI Charge from January Arrest: Latest Details and Reaction
Superstar boxer Adrien Broner is on the ascent, but the 25-year-old pugilist is in trouble with the law, stemming from a Jan. 11 arrest.
According to Kimball Perry of The Cincinnati Enquirer, Broner has been charged with operating a vehicle while impaired in connection with an incident that involved him getting pulled over before ultimately refusing to submit to a breath test.
Per Perry, attorney Will Welsh made it clear that Broner believes he is innocent: "It's very early in the process. He maintains his innocence."
Broner, who sports a 30-1 record, defeated John Molina Jr. by unanimous decision March 7. He is riding a three-fight winning streak since suffering his first career loss to Marcos Maidana, and he is among the most polarizing stars in the sport due to his brash attitude.
His next fight hasn't yet been announced, but Amir Khan has thrown his hat into the ring:
It is unclear how the charge against Broner might ultimately impact his boxing career, but he isn't showing any signs of backing down.
Because of that, the talented boxer could be in line for a lengthy legal battle.
