Wisniewski Visits Seahawks
Friday, March 13
Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reported that Wisniewski's visit with the Seahawks went well, but that he has other visits to take and nothing is close at this point.
Seattle is in the market for a center after trading former Pro Bowler Max Unger and a first-round pick to New Orleans in exchange for tight end Jimmy Graham and a fourth-round selection. Unger was the Seahawks' starting center since being selected No. 49 overall in 2009.
Wisniewski, 25, has spent his entire four-year career with the Oakland Raiders. He's started 61 games over that timeframe, beginning as a left guard before switching full-time to center the last three years. Pro Football Focus' grading data ranked Wisniewski the league's 22nd-best center last season. It was a downturn from his previous two years, where he showed marked improvement and was seemingly developing into a building block.

The Seahawks are likely to take a qualitative hit regardless of where they go at the position. Unger is a two-time Pro Bowler and former All-Pro who was well on his way to a stellar 2014 campaign before injuries limited him to six games.
It's unclear how much Seattle is willing to spend on a center, but that answer may inform how we'll look at the Graham deal long-term. Unger was under contract the next two seasons with cap numbers of $4.5 million, below the going rate for a star, per Spotrac. Any dime above that number or even one that's comparable is going to lead to comparisons.
