Drew Brees Is Sending Mad Shade at the New Orleans Saints for Jimmy Graham Trade
March 11, 2015
New Orleans is clearing cap space, and no one in the Saints fanbase or franchise seems happy about how things have shaken out.
In the last 24 hours, the Saints have moved Jimmy Graham and released Pierre Thomas and Curtis Lofton, leaving voids in the shape of a singular playmaker and a beloved veteran on the roster.
It all happened quickly—a scalpel-like removal, as jarring trades tend to be. Graham's last tweet before changing his Twitter bio to "Traded" on Tuesday was a note expressing his joy that the team had re-signed running back Mark Ingram.
Now, the face of the Saints franchise is joining Graham in expressing disappointment in the team's decision to move one of its most potent weapons to the Seattle Seahawks. Drew Brees isn't saying anything, but he tweeted a picture Wednesday afternoon that appears to sum up his opinion of the Saints' trade:
Yep, Brees' kids love Graham, and now Dad has to explain to them how the franchise tag is a weird thing and how the team coffers can't support him, Graham and the defensive makeover the Saints appear to be gunning for this offseason.
Stay strong, children. You still have Brandin Cooks.
Dan is on Twitter, listening to "Candle in the Wind" and staring at a crumpled picture of Graham getting groped by The Joker.
