However, as we look at the players on the field, a key offensive player has gone down with an injury: wide receiver Chaz Schilens.
Who? Thats right, Chaz Schilens, a young receiver for the Oakland Raiders that has brought some interest within Tom Cable and the staff.
Schilens has been working hard through the summer, which has impressed the silver and black with a good work ethic. In fact, for those who didn't even know who he was, he reportedly is in the mix for the top spot on the depth chart.
According to recent reports, however, it could be awhile until we see Schilens on the field.
Schilens injured the fifth metatarsal in his left foot, which has brought great caution to him and the medical team.
In a personal statement, Schilens said it is highly unlikely to see him in a uniform for week one of the 2009 season.
Hopefully he can return as soon as he can, and be an important target to JaMarcus Russell and the Raiders offense.
