England vs. Bangladesh: Winners and Losers from Cricket World Cup Match
England reached one of their lowest points ever in the Cricket World Cup as they lost by 15 runs to Bangladesh, meaning they will not advance from Pool A.
It was a shocking result for an England side that should surely have won comfortably on a wicket that was far more suited to their talents, but they once again failed to impress.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the winners and losers from the game.
Winner: Rubel Hossain

England were chasing an infinitely reachable 276 to win, but came up against seamer Rubel Hossain, who stopped them in their tracks.
He removed Ian Bell and James Taylor before returning to mop up the tail and finish with four for 53, a very solid effort on a good batting pitch.
Loser: Eoin Morgan

Not only has England’s captain presided over a very unsatisfactory campaign, Eoin Morgan was also dismissed for a duck after a terrible shot.
With his side having just lost Ian Bell, Morgan pulled a short one from Rubel Hossain straight down the throat of Shakib Al Hasan on the boundary.
Given the situation, it was a very poor decision that put England further in trouble.
Winner: Mahmudullah

Batting first, Bangladesh would have been determined to put up a decent score, and they were indebted to Mahmudullah at four who made 103 from 138 balls.
He came to the crease with his side eight for two and delivered at the perfect time, especially as only three of his team-mates reached double figures.

Loser: Chris Jordan

He may have taken two wickets, but England seamer Chris Jordan was a little on the inconsistent side as he conceded 59 runs in his 10 overs.
His side will have wanted much more from him, especially as he conceded a total of six boundaries from the bat and also sent down five wides.
Winner: Mushfiqur Rahim

Another Bangladesh batsman to impress was Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored 89 from 77 balls and supported Mahmudullah excellently.
Their partnership of 141 was key in pushing Bangladesh past 200, with Rahim's aggression coming to the fore as he hit eight fours and one six.

Chasing 276, England will have wanted a much better platform than the one they got from their top four, with the exception of Ian Bell who made 63.
Moeen Ali, Alex Hales and Joe Root all made starts and then got out, after looking in decent touch and finding the boundaries.
If one more of them had gone on to pass 50, England would surely have been victorious.
