This week's golazo top-10 rankings feature highly impressive efforts from England, the Netherlands, Portugal, Brazil, Poland, Germany, France, the USA and Armenia.

Before we get started, honourable mentions must go to Xabi Alonso for his free-kick against Hannover, Chelsea loanee John Swift's long-ranger for Swindon, Dimitar Berbatov's cool finish against Evian and Gonzalo Higuain's lovely curling strike against Internazionale.

With the close-but-no-cigar goals accounted for, here are 10 of the best from the weekend...

10. Kristoffer Peterson (Utrecht) vs. AZ Alkmaar

1 of 10

Utrecht surprised high-flying AZ Alkmaar on Sunday with a comprehensive 6-2 Eredivisie victory. Their fifth goal came from former Liverpool winger Kristoffer Peterson, who curled in a delightful shot across goal in the 83rd minute.

9. Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy) vs. Chicago Fire

2 of 10

MLS champs LA Galaxy kicked off the 20th season of the USA's top flight on Friday evening with a 2-0 win over the Chicago Fire.

League MVP Robbie Keane bagged the second goal in the 81st minute, volleying home in style from a Baggio Husidic flick-on.

The Irishman appeared to pay Husidic back for the assist by accidentally punching him in the face during a rather angry celebration.

8. David Luiz (Paris Saint-Germain) vs. Lens

3 of 10

Paris Saint-Germain prepared for their upcoming Champions League clash at Chelsea with a 4-1 victory over Lens to take them back to the top of the league.

David Luiz opened the floodgates in the 43rd minute with an audacious 35-yard free-kick that somehow crept into the bottom-right corner.

7. Iuri Medeiros (Arouca) vs. Benfica

4 of 10

Portuguese league leaders Benfica stormed to a 3-1 win over relative minnows Arouca on Sunday, but they were panicked in the seventh minute when the home side took the lead.

The goal was a lovely piece of skill from 20-year-old striker Iuri Medeiros, who teed himself up for a volley that was vaguely reminiscent of Paul Gascoigne's iconic goal against Scotland.

6. Douglas (Gremio) vs. Caxias

5 of 10

Gremo closed in on the Campeonato Gaucho top spot on Saturday evening with a 3-1 win over Caxias.

Midfielder Douglas opened the scoring in the 41st minute with a textbook Olimpico, scoring directly from a corner kick.

5. Gary Gardner (Nottingham Forest) vs. Middlesbrough

6 of 10

Skip to [0.18] for the goal

Gary Gardner made our "Top 10 Golazo Rankings" last week for a sensational strike at Reading, and the Nottingham Forest midfielder has struck a beauty for the second consecutive week.

In Saturday's match with promotion-chasing Middlesbrough, Grant Leadbitter opened the scoring for the Smoggies with a brilliant chip from a tight angle. Gardner, however, equalised with a beautiful long-range strike for his third league goal of the season.

4. Franco Di Santo (Werder Bremen) vs. Freiburg

7 of 10

Franco Di Santo was so proud of his winning goal for Werder Bremen at Freiburg on Saturday that he uploaded it to his Instagram account

The former Chelsea star made the difference in the 1-0 win in the 35th minute with a wonderful curling strike. It was the Argentine's 12th goal in 17 league matches for Bremen this season.

3. Steve Cook (Bournemouth) vs. Fulham

8 of 10

Skip to [0.56] to see the goal

The Championship table is a sight to behold at the moment, with all four top teams tied on 66 points. Thanks to Middlesbrough's aforementioned loss at Notts Forest, Bournemouth remained at the top of the table with a 5-1 victory over Fulham.

As you can see above, some fantastic goals were scored at Craven Cottage, but the finest was surely Steve Cook's sublime hit into the top-left corner in the 84th minute.

2. Bartlomiej Babiarz (Ruch Chorzow) vs. Pogon Szczecin

9 of 10

Ruch Chorzow may be languishing near the bottom of the Polish Ekstraklasa, but they beat Pogon Szczecin 2-1 on Friday night, thanks in part to a world-class strike from Bartlomiej Babiarz.

In the 26th minute, the 26-year-old midfielder received a throw-in and hit a superb volley over the keeper from distance.

In any other week, this probably would have ranked No. 1 on our listing. But it has been kept at bay by something special...

1. Zaven Badoyan (Pyunik) vs. Alashkert

10 of 10

This week's best goal comes from a rather unusual source: The Armenian Premier League.

Our friends at 101GG discovered a Bobby Dazzler scored by Pyunik's Zaven Badoyan during their 1-0 win at Alashkert.

In the 65th minute, the 25-year-old midfielder scored the kind of scissor kick goal that would be career-defining for most players.
