ESPN: Landry Suspended 10 Games
Friday, Mar. 6
According to ESPN's Field Yates, Landry's suspension will be for the first 10 games of the 2015 season:
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the suspension is the result of Landry violating the NFL's policy against performance-enhancing drugs:
Landry's muscular physique has always drawn a lot of attention, with NBC Sports' Ross Tucker offering this assessment of the veteran safety after his suspension was announced:
This marks the second time in less than six months Landry has been popped for PEDs. He was suspended for four games during the 2014 season, one year after signing a four-year deal with the Colts.
After the 2014 season ended, the Colts released Landry after he recorded 47 combined tackles and 2.5 sacks. The 30-year-old had been a solid producer before last year, totaling 187 combined tackles in 2012-13 with the Jets and Colts.
Now, with this latest suspension, Landry's market takes a huge hit. He will only be available for six regular-season games next season.
Even teams searching for an injury replacement during the season won't be able to call Landry due to the suspension. His future was already murky after the Colts let him go, but now it's impossible to predict what will come.
