It's time for another Twitter mailbag, with a focus on the upcoming free agency period.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter this weekend and throughout free agency for all the latest on Big Blue’s free agency activity.

The only news I have seen regarding Cole comes from Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee, who reported that Cole was planning to visit with Tampa. If no deal materializes, then Cole is reportedly planning to visit the Indianapolis Colts.

Thanks for the question Michael. The Giants definitely need to add some defensive linemen.

Greg Hardy

As I wrote Thursday, their situation at defensive end is concerning, especially given the recent news as revealed by Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram regarding Damontre Moore’s right arm being in a sling.

Now with that said, no, I don’t see the Giants targeting Carolina's Greg Hardy because of the baggage he brings.

According to an ESPN report, while Hardy is eligible to sign a new deal, he still is on the commissioner’s exempt list. There is no telling when that situation is going to be resolved, so if I'm a NFL general manager, I wouldn’t tie up any kind of money in a player whose availability to my team is in question.

I don’t think there is a set number of wins head coach Tom Coughlin has to reach in order to keep his job. I do think two things need to happen, though.

First, he definitely needs to get this team over .500, something he hasn’t been able to do the last two seasons. Second, he needs to get them into the playoffs.

If the Giants fall short of meeting those objectives, I wouldn’t be surprised if the entire coaching staff is let go after the upcoming season.

Thanks for the question Mike. I truly believe Rolle’s return is 50/50 right now.

In his interview this week with SiriusXM radio, he spoke about approaching free agency like it’s a business

If that’s going to be the case, he’s probably going to let his head rule his heart since this next contract could be his last one.

As for how the Giants will restock the safety position, I think it will be mostly free agency. I could see Stevie Brown being re-signed, and I also believe the Giants will be trying to land one of the top unrestricted free-agent (UFA) safeties on the market.

Jordan Raanan of NJ Advance Media reported recently that the Giants have interest in Devin McCourty of New England and Rahim Moore of Denver.

Other possibilities to watch include Da’Norris Searcy of Buffalo and Ron Parker of Kansas City.

I’ve always liked former New England Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork and his style of play, but I am not so sure he’s a fit for the Giants both in terms of scheme and cost. If I’m the Giants, I look to get younger talent on that defensive line.

They already have one guy, Cullen Jenkins, over the age of 30, and if they re-sign Mike Patterson, he is also over the age of 30.

The Giants seem to use the draft to build the defensive line, so I don’t really think they’ll break from that practice this year.
