Tashaun Gipson to Jaguars: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction
In his three-year career, Tashaun Gipson has emerged as one of the brightest young free safeties in football. The Jacksonville Jaguars recognized his ability, prying him away from the Cleveland Browns and signing him in free agency on Wednesday.
ESPN's Adam Caplan and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network both reported the news.
The deal is for five years and worth $35.5 million, per Rapoport.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It's been a rough start to free agency for the Browns, as Fox Sports' Peter Schrager pointed out:
Gipson played just 11 games in 2014—he was placed on injured reserve in December with a knee injury—but he still had an excellent season for the Browns, finishing with 52 tackles, a forced fumble, six interceptions and eight passes defensed. He was selected to the Pro Bowl but decided against playing due to the knee injury.
He now has 11 interceptions in the past two years and 12 for his career, making him one of the better center fielder safeties in the game.
What makes Gipson so good, however, is that he is also a very physical player, allowing him to either make the interception or break up a passing play with a big hit. His complete skill set as a player, along with the fact that he is just 24 years old, is a big reason why it's so shocking the Browns let him hit free agency in the first place.
Expect Gipson to be one of the better safeties in the NFL for years to come, and expect the Jaguars to remain quite pleased they dished out the cash needed to bring him aboard this offseason.
