Champions League Final: Manchester United, Chelsea Clash in Moscow
A couple of days before the much awaited Champions League final in Moscow, Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo has stunned the United faithful by revealing he is unsure about his future at the club.
Reports suggest he has been overwhelmed by a staggering offer by Real Madrid which would make him the highest paid footballer in the history of the game.
"I will have a look at it after the final but I can tell you, it is my dream to play in Spain" revealed Ronaldo.
The Portuguese winger has had a spectacular season at Old Trafford scoring 41 goals in the process. Ronaldo is under contract at United, but it is feared that he may opt to buy out of his contract.
Sir Alex Ferguson, however, was calm as ever, stating he expected Ronaldo to stay and rubbished all rumors of a deal with Real Madrid.
Ricardo Carvalho has also told Chelsea, who Manchester United will be facing in the final that he has received an offer from a Spanish club and would consider a move to Spain.
There is a lot of nervous tension around both clubs. Chelsea's Didier Drogba has also said he wants to realize his dream of playing for AC Milan which was certainly not expected by the Chelsea fans especially ahead of the final against Manchester United.
It is suggested Drogba was frustrated after a scuffle with Michael Ballack, and he has also had a spat with Avram Grant's deputy, Henk Ten Cate, which forced him into thinking about a move to Italy.
However, it is certainly not something Chelsea would want on the mind of their most lethal attacking weapon ahead of the final.
Leaving the rumors behind, the final in the Luzhniki Stadium is expected to be a very close affair.
Manchester United facing Chelsea means it is the very first all-English European Cup Final which adds a little more spice to the clash, especially after United were crowned Champions on the final day of the season with a 2-0 victory over Wigan.
Sir Alex Ferguson usually prefers a 4-5-1 formation in Europe but considering it is an English opponent, one wouldn't be surprised to see Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez starting upfront.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic are all fully fit for the game and are expected to start.
Ryan Giggs if chosen ahead of Nani and Park Ji Sung would become United's most capped player.
Avram Grant and Sir Alex Ferguson have had a war of words and the cease less mind games have added to the hype.
Whether Avram Grant beefs up the midfield with five lads or chooses to go with Drogba and Anelka upfront is yet to be seen.
Another question is whether Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack will start together? Will Michael Essien be sacrificed?
Will Malouda get an outing? Will Terry be fit enough to last 90 minutes?
Some questions remain unanswered but whatever the result in Moscow we are assured of a dramatic clash and a fitting end to the season.
