Cristiano Ronaldo Has Not Scored with Any of His Last 51 Free-Kick Attempts

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is considered one of the greatest free-kick-takers in the world, but stats suggest he might have lost his mojo.

Spanish newspaper AS, citing the Twitter account of Spanish football statistician "MisterChip," have revealed that Ronaldo has not scored with any of his last 51 attempts at goal from free-kicks:

Cristiano has not scored a single goal with his last 51 free-kicks: 21 hit the wall, 14 were off-target and 16 were repelled by the goalkeeper or the posts.

Cristiano scored his last free-kick goal in the 4-0 win against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the Champions League on 29 April 2014.

That means that Ronaldo has not scored at all from the free-kick this season despite scoring 39 times across all competitions.

Ronaldo shares free-kick duties with Gareth Bale at the Bernabeu, but the Welshman himself has only scored one goal from a dead-ball situation this season, against Espanyol in January.
