Douglas, Titans Agree to Deal

Tuesday, March 10

Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean reported Douglas and the Titans agreed to a three-year deal.

on March 5, ESPN's Adam Schefter noted that Douglas would be taking a trip to Tennessee to visit his former offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey.

Douglas was released by the Falcons on February 27 after spending seven years in Atlanta. His best season came in 2013 with 85 receptions for 1,067 yards and two touchdowns. He regressed last year with 51 catches, 556 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games.

Mularkey coached in Atlanta from 2008 to 2011, so he knows Douglas as well as anyone in the NFL. The Titans are searching for any help they can get at wide receiver. Tight end Delanie Walker led the team in receptions (63) and yards (890) last season.

In addition to finding weapons at wide receiver, the Titans have to figure out what they want to do at quarterback. Zach Mettenberger could get a longer look this year after his six-game tryout last season, but head coach Ken Whisenhunt has the No. 2 pick in the draft, which could play a role in his decision.
