NASCAR Xfinity Series at Las Vegas 2015: Full Schedule, Standings and Preview

R. Cory SmithMar 5, 2015

A familiar face drove to Victory Lane in the latest Xfinity race in Atlanta, but two young stars have emerged as top contenders for the title.

For the third straight year, Kevin Harvick won in Atlanta. While he hasn't secured a victory in the premier series at the track since his first-ever win, the defending Sprint Cup champion won for JR Motorsports.

Behind him and Joey Logano were top-five stalwarts Ty Dillon and Chris Buescher. Both are second-year drivers who finished fifth and seventh in points, respectively, as rookies. This season, they are looking to knock Chase Elliott off the throne.

Just how tight is the points race? After top-five results in both Daytona and Atlanta, Dillon and Buescher are tied atop the leaderboard.

The official Xfinity Series account tried to explain how the standings work after two races:

Buescher is one of three Roush Fenway Racing drivers in the top four of the standings. Ryan Reed, who won in Daytona, and Darrell Wallace Jr. sit at third and fourth, respectively.

Wallace is also at the top of the Rookie of the Year running after a hot start to the season. He'll be looking for another top-five finish at the track to enter his name back in the championship-contender mix this season.
