Carey Price Sees 10-Game Road Winning Streak Come to End
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price took the loss in Monday's 4-0 defeat at the hands of the San Jose Sharks, ending a 10-game road winning streak that tied for the second-longest of its kind in NHL history, per Sportsnet Stats.
Price and the Habs never stood much of a chance in the surprising blowout, as the Sharks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period and never looked back.
The Canadiens' longtime netminder stopped 33 of the 37 shots he faced, while Sharks counterpart Alex Stalock stopped each of the 20 shots sent in his direction.

It was the Habs' sixth loss by a margin of four or more goals this season, but their first since Nov. 23, when they fell 5-0 at the hands of the New York Rangers.
As for the 27-year-old Price, his previous road loss came all the way back on Dec. 6, when the Dallas Stars snuck three pucks past him on the way to a 4-1 victory.
Owner of a modest 5-5-1 road record when the streak began, Price now sits at 15-6-1 away from home this season, compared to 21-6-2 at the Bell Centre.
His splits are largely insignificant, as he owns a .937 save percentage and 1.84 goals-against average at home and a .932 save percentage and 2.02 GAA on the road.
As the NHL leader in wins, save percentage and GAA, Price is arguably the the favorite to win both the Hart and Vezina Trophies.
While he'll have to beat out a number of superstar skaters for the first award, Price doesn't have much competition for the Vezina, with Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne being the only other reasonable candidate.
