Vick? What a Role Model!

Michael Vick to the Eagles...from my perspective this is all wrong.  As a woman I may look at things in a different manner, as a sports fan and Eagles fan, I am outraged.  I was on the bus to training camp two weeks ago along with Ike Reese and Hugh Douglas (really not the brightest penny) and asked the dreaded Vick question..."Who will be the idiot team that pick's up Vick?"  I became suspicious when Hugh launched into the Vick served his time etc defense and what a great player he is...huh, Hugh?  Turns out that at that moment Vick was lounging around McNabb's place waiting for the big announcement.  The most interesting thing was that the night of the  announcement, we received a call from Scott Lefko (#77) former Eagles tackle and BFF to let us know about the Vick signing.   Scott was watching the Ravens TV network and it took a full 15 m minute's until the Eagles broke in and made the announcement.  We thought Scott was just yanking us around...NOT!  My rants are on my website http:www.jjelephant.com/blog.  as for the heart of the matter, the interview on 60Mminutes showed Vick top be a self absorbed idiot and unrepentant.  Would you really let Vick take care of your pooch (or cats)? 

It all comes down to the Wild Cat offense which Vick brings to the table.  McNabb today said he wants to serve as WR to Vicks QB for the plays but mark my words, he will stay QB.  Not a big McNabb fan and Vick can be a good WR.  So Eagles put principles aside and brought in Vick for the elusive Super Bowl win. We certainly have lowered the bar for our youth and what a great message for kids...do the crime, do the time...get a great job.  Will Andy Reid's kids go on the Eagles payroll next?  This is a team known for dumping older players.  No Brian Dawkins, a stand up guy doing good for his community and a great team leader...now we have Vick.  Cannot wait to see the PETA protests at the game.  Total distraction from the other players.

Owning my own 2 acre Sports Cafe and gift shop has allowed me to plan my own soft protest...September 13th beginning at noon we will be having a "Tail"gate.  Free green snow cones, cotton candy and popcorn but we will be selling BBQ Kosher Dogs and little stuffed beagles (B-Eagles?) to benefit local animal rescues.
