Victor Hampton Cut by Ravens Following DWI Arrest: Latest Details and Reaction
The Baltimore Ravens announced Monday afternoon they cut cornerback Victor Hampton.
The move comes after a North Carolina Highway Patrol trooper arrested Hampton for allegedly driving while impaired. Alexa Ashwell of WSOC Charlotte reported that Hampton was going 100 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone, and he is also looking at speeding, open container and reckless driving charges.
"It's a privilege to play in the National Football League. It's a privilege to be a part of the Ravens," said Ravens head coach John Harbaugh in the team's press release. "There's a standard to uphold there, and we expect them to [do that]. We've always expected them to do that. But I would think that it will be a little bit shorter leeway, maybe than it's been in the past."
