Fleischmann tallied 96 points, including 39 goals, across 130 games for the Panthers starting from 2011-13. His production has dropped off over the past two seasons, however. He was also without a defined role in the lineup following the team's recent deal for Jaromir Jagr.
The 30-year-old forward has also played for the Washington Capitals and Colorado Avalanche. The Ducks will hope he can regain that previous form as they attempt to bolster their secondary scoring with a playoff run on the horizon.
Heatley was once among the most feared offensive weapons in the league. He scored a combined 141 goals over a three-season span starting in 2005.
His numbers have steadily dwindled, though. He's scoreless in six NHL appearances this season while spending most of his time in the AHL. Adam Gretz of CBS Sports notes he's expected to remain in the minors following the deal.
The Panthers also acquire a draft selection to help restock their assets after giving up a couple picks to acquire Jagr from the New Jersey Devils.
Fleischmann isn't the biggest name likely to get dealt before Monday's trade deadline. He could represent a nice under-the-radar pickup for the contending Ducks, though.
