Yahoo Sports: Cowboys, Beasley Negotiating

Thursday, Feb. 26

According to Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports, the Cowboys and Beasley have had discussions about a multiyear deal:

Beasley has turned into one of the best success stories in recent years. He went undrafted in 2012 out of SMU before signing with the Cowboys. The wide receiver is slight at 5'8" and 174 pounds, but he has played much bigger than his size in three seasons.

After two decent seasons, Beasley became a bigger part of the offense in 2014. He set career highs in receiving yards (420), yards per catch (11.4) and touchdown catches (four), per Pro-Football-Reference.com. The 25-year-old had a strong game against the Detroit Lions in the playoffs with 63 yards on four receptions.

Beasley is a restricted free agent this offseason, so the Cowboys would have the chance to match any offer he might receive if things get that far. He's proved to be a strong fit as a slot wideout in this offense, making big plays on third down and showing reliable hands when bigger defenders are bearing down on him.
