Ed Joyce Has 'Luck of the Irish' Moment After Being Bowled by Amjad Javed
Ireland batsman Ed Joyce could be well advised to go out and buy a lottery ticket later after getting a huge slice of luck during his side’s World Cup game with the United Arab Emirates.
United Arab Emirates bowler Amjad Javed beat Joyce with a swinging ball and wheeled away in delight after the lights on the stumps went on—signalling a wicket.

The United Arab Emirates players joined the bowler in celebration, but Joyce simply stood his ground.
The umpires looked somewhat perplexed, and it took a replay to clear things up.
The ball hit off stump, sending the off bail into the air and with it the flashing lights. But, to Joyce’s relief, the bail did the rarest of things by dropping straight back into its groove.

After a bit of head-scratching, Javed went back to his mark for the next ball—which Joyce spanked for four.
Now, what are those lottery numbers of yours, Ed?
