Dallas Mavericks point guard Rajon Rondo joined the team in mid-December, but it looks like he is already butting heads with his head coach, Rick Carlisle.
While it's not entirely clear what sparked the disagreement during the team's 99-92 win over the visiting Toronto Raptors on Tuesday, Carlisle obviously wanted a third-quarter timeout that Rondo didn't call, a situation that forced the coach to walk onto the court to get the TO.
The two then exchanged heated words.
The Mavericks have suspended Rajon Rondo one game for conduct detrimental to the team.
---End of update---
Carlisle and Rondo were asked about the incident after the game:
For guys to show some fire and emotion in the NBA isn't necessarily a bad thing, but this type of exchange certainly doesn't bode well for the upcoming playoff run.
