Jean Francois Signs With Redskins

Pro Football Talk reported the Redskins signed Jean Francois to a three-year deal.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com provided details on the deal:

Rapoport previously reported that Jean Francois was planning to visit the Redskins and 49ers this week. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk also reported that he would visit with the Seahawks.

Eagles Were Potential Suitors for Francois

Monday, Feb. 23

On Monday afternoon, the Indianapolis Colts officially announced that they had released Jean Francois after he spent two years with the team. Stephen Holder of The Indianapolis Star felt that the decision was more of a cost-cutting maneuver than wholly performance-based.

Rapoport pointed out that the Philadelphia Eagles made a move to sign Jean Francois back in 2013, before he joined the Colts:

However, Holder reports a return to the Colts were also an option:

The 28-year-old was a bit limited in 2013, playing in only 10 games. He played in every game for the Colts in 2014, setting career highs in combined tackles (34) and sacks (3.0).
