NFL Mock Draft 2015: 1st-Round Projections for Top Prospects After Combine Day 3
Lucas Oil Stadium was rocking Friday, as tight ends, offensive linemen and specialists were the first positional groups to take the field in an effort to impress NFL scouts and executives enough to bolster their draft stock.
We saw some impressive workouts from several first-round hopefuls; however, much of their efforts were overshadowed by the long-awaited arrival of Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston to the podium. The signal-caller put the media in a frenzy from his opening words, via Will Brinson of CBSSports.com:
Now, as we await the next part of Winston's journey—he will throw at the combine—let's take a look at how everything that transpired on Day 3 in Indianapolis shifted the outlook for the draft's first round.

Analyzing First-Round Offensive Linemen
The draft's big men were among the first to participate in on-field drills at the combine, and while there were some mixed results from the field, most first-round prospects put together solid-enough performances to maintain their standing. There were also some strong performances from a few fringe first-rounders that should help propel them into—or close to—the first 32 selections.
Here's a glance at each of the likeliest offensive linemen to be selected in the draft's first round following Day 3 workouts at the combine.
10. St. Louis Rams: Brandon Scherff, OT, Iowa
The 6'5", 319-pound Brandon Scherff may be one of the draft's most powerful prospects; however, he produced some mixed results at the combine. The Iowa product produced just 23 reps on the bench press, but he made up for it with an impressive 5.05-second 40-yard dash. This was a bit strange, considering he's highly touted for his strength, not his speed.
Still, he has a good chance to be the draft's first offensive lineman selected, even though he appears to project to play guard based on his physical tools. That will work for the Rams, as they have a mixture of injury concerns and weaknesses at a few positions along the line.
16. Houston Texans: La'el Collins, OT, LSU

La'el Collins didn't dazzle at the combine, but he produced solid numbers across the board. He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.12 seconds, accumulated 21 reps on the bench press and recorded a 27-inch vertical jump, but he also looked very good during positional drills.
Collins has a nice blend of upper-body strength and power, making him a candidate to move to right tackle or slide inside to guard in the NFL. The 6'4", 305-pound LSU product will fit nicely in Houston, as the Texans have question marks at both of those positions.
17. San Diego Chargers: Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford

Andrus Peat slid a bit due to his combine performance. He did post some decent numbers, finishing with a 5.18-second 40-yard dash and 31-inch vertical jump; however, he was a bit heavy-footed during agility and positional drills—something that may cause teams to think of him more as a right tackle than a left tackle.
While his showing wan't overly impressive, Peat is still a remarkable physical specimen. He stands at 6'7", weighs 313 pounds, has a thick lower body and has good overall power. The Chargers have D.J. Fluker at right tackle, but the team will have the freedom to shift him inside to guard with the addition of Peat.
25. Carolina Panthers: T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh's T.J. Clemmings was another lineman who really impressed during combine workouts. He's highly agile for his 6'5", 309-pound frame, and that showed during his 4.54-second 20-yard shuttle. His athleticism was well on display during his 32.5-inch vertical jump, and his 5.14-second 40-yard dash and 22 reps on the bench press were nothing to sneeze at.
A former basketball player, Clemmings has all kinds of natural talent; however, he's still a rather raw prospects and will need help with his technique in pass protection. With the right coaching, he could become a Pro Bowl left tackle, and that's the reason the Panthers take a stab at him here.
32. New England Patriots: Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami

Miami's Ereck Flowers has been a late-riser on many draft boards, as he's begun to show up in the first round of mock drafts. At 6'6" and 329 pounds, he has an impressive build and athletic frame with good foot quickness and great strength. He showed why he's considered a mauler in the trenches at the combine, racking up 37 reps on the bench press.
Flowers didn't have a great 40-yard dash (5.31 seconds), and he didn't show a great deal of fluidity in positional drills; however, it wouldn't be a surprise if a team like the Patriots grabs him late in the first round due to his experience at multiple positions and enormous upside with the right coaching.
