Pilgram In an Unholy Land
Where is it written that just because you "live in a market" you are owned by a MLB franchise and are forbidden to choose for yourself? I am a Yankee fan and happen to live in southern RI. What I find amazing is how hard it is to actually be a Yankee fan in RI, outside of being looked at like you have 2 heads by other people the systems in place make it next to impossible.
When I found out that YES has been added to my Verizon FIOS lineup the look of glee on my face could light up the deepest and darkest place on earth in its bright glee-full glow. How short lived that would be when it would be pounded into oblivion when I attempted to watch my first game. I was greeted with what could be described as a Yankee infomercial, I was mortified! Sure I could go out and spend money on some MLB package but why? I wouldn't have to spend extra money to watch the Red Sox, why should I have to spend extra money to watch the Yankees.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Another slap, be this one a little more slight, when RI DMV came out with both Red Sox and Patriots license plates it was done with ease. How come it is taking political lobbying to get a Yankee or Giant plate? This really makes no sense to me as I should be guided in my choices of teams in which I support. Now I don't expect a plate for every single sports team in the country but NY is the next furthest team away from RI and not by all that far. Being able to get a Yankee plate should not be a battle.
I don't understand why this has to be, maybe I could expect in within Mass where the teams are really based. It would be understandable that they would want to to root for the local team there since your money spent would benefit the states economy ins some sort. This is not the case in RI, none of the Boston teams add anything to the RI economy or anything to that like whatsoever. They are Mass teams by design not RI teams. The Red Sox don't really do anything above what the Yankees do in regards to RI and the state. So why is it so difficult to be a Yankee fan in RI? Why can I not tune into YES and watch the game?
