In addition, Fazende also tweeted out some of the graphic allegations that were listed in the suit by the alleged victim:
Katherine Terrell of NOLA.com reported a statement from Galette's lawyer:
There were more details to emerge on the role of some of Galette's unnamed Saints teammates, per theneworleansadvocate.com:
"The lawsuit also alleges that an unnamed Saints player 'repeatedly touched and penetrated Plaintiff’s vagina with his hand while she was drugged by defendant and/or his agents while attending parties at the defendant’s residents.' The lawsuit alleges five unnamed teammates of the player 'were all witnesses of these acts and knowingly participated in this humiliating and illegal behavior.'
"
This lawsuit stems from a January arrest in which Galette was "booked on a misdemeanor simple battery," via NFL.com. The woman claimed "her face was scratched and her ear bloodied after an earring was ripped off.."
In the same report, the alleged victim said that she had been living with Galette "for about two years" and that he "takes care of her." Galette disputed that and did not issue a statement to officers about the issue.
On Thursday, legal charges against Galette were dropped, per Nick Underhill of The New Orleans Advocate:
However, ESPN's Mike Triplett reported that the civil suit will move forward regardless of the case being dropped.
The NFL has not handed down any punishment for Galette thus far, since the case is still new and there a lot of details to be ironed out. He has been with the Saints since 2010, playing all 16 games each of the last two years and recording 22 sacks.
