Dolph Ziggler, Tyler Breeze, Goldust and More from the Body Paint Mailbag
WWE NXT is too good. It's catching so much buzz, many main-roster talents are reportedly upset, per F4WOnline (h/t WrestlingInc.com), about the upstarts getting so much time to flourish.
It's OK. One day, these NXT talents will join the WWE main roster as their frustrated peers.
"@ThisIsNasty do you see @MmmGorgeous getting over on the main roster or is the gimmick too much for today's WWE, & one better suited for NXT

NXT has a sketchy track record in bringing its talent up to the main roster. There's a stark difference in getting time to develop in NXT and just being shuffled out on television for five minutes.
With Miz already on the main roster doing a similar gimmick, Breeze won't be as effective. Let's just hope Breeze isn't brought up as Miz's new stunt double.
The gimmicks on NXT are going to have a tough time translating to a larger, more apathetic WWE audience. Stars like Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have their own built-in audience. They built their brand on wrestling and will therefore see a smoother transition.
Finn Balor's entrance alone will be something to behold. He has a good chance of translating to more mainstream success.
Breeze, while a good hand and an entertaining character, will see his share of struggles on the main roster. Gimmicks in WWE have shelf lives before in-ring talent must shine through. Despite being competent in the ring, this is what Fandango is currently struggling with.
"@ThisIsNasty Assume Daniel Bryan is in the main event at Wrestlemania, what do you do with Ziggler?
— Tom Johnson (@tjohn224) February 18, 2015"
This is the final year Ziggler may have to score a singles match at WrestleMania. Daniel Bryan is his only hope. If WWE somehow includes Bryan in the WrestleMania main event, Ziggler will likely be working a Battle Royal.
Ziggler is currently feuding with The Authority, but that will be extinguished when Randy Orton comes back. Orton will get Rollins, and Sting will get Triple H. Even Big Show and Kane are currently feuding with each other.
This leaves Ziggler with slim pickings. Despite flirting with the main event in recent months, Ziggler would return to a familiar position at the low end of the WrestleMania card.
By next year, he'll have a tough time fighting off a talented pool of developmental talent for TV time. He's more on the cusp than most people realize. And if he doesn't hit it big at WrestleMania this year, he probably never will.
"@ThisIsNasty how is it that goldust is as good as he is at that age?does he steal the souls of john cena's opponents to keep himself strong?
— BoBnfishy (@BoBnfishy) February 17, 2015"
Not only does Goldust continue to impress in the ring, but he's actually part of a pretty solid storyline. He's in the best shape of his life and is somehow one of the more human characters on TV despite his gear.
WWE seems to be speeding up the Goldust-Stardust feud. Their storyline arch could easily end at WrestleMania, but they're already having their match at Fastlane.
Always remember, Goldust had one of the more memorable WrestleMania matches against Roddy Piper at WrestleMania XII. If he gets an opportunity to work with Stardust at this year's WrestleMania, it could surpass that match.
Even after their match on Sunday, they could still have another match at WrestleMania. Just raise the stakes. Dusty Rhodes as special guest referee, the loser can't wear makeup or must wear polka dots.
It would be a shame if another potential brother vs. brother WrestleMania match was sacrificed for Fastlane.
