Raptors Reportedly Showing Interest in Trading for West

Monday, Feb. 16

With the Pacers floundering in last place in the Central Division and the Toronto Raptors currently residing in the No. 2 spot in the Eastern Conference behind the Atlanta Hawks, it appears the Raptors could be interested in making a move for West.

Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders has more:

ESPN's Marc Stein shared more insight on the potential move:

While West, 34, isn't the player he once was, he's still having a solid season for the Pacers, averaging 13.1 points and 7.3 rebounds in 29.6 minutes per game. He would certainly give Toronto another player down on the block and a veteran presence who has gone through the playoff wars before and knows what it takes to win in the postseason.

For West, the chance to go to a contender would probably be ideal, as he likely doesn't have many seasons left in the tank. While Indiana could easily get back into the playoff race in the weak Eastern Conference, this certainly appears to be a lost season.

In other words, it would hardly be surprising to see a veteran like West moved.
