Dehli Franchise Record Bid For Yuvraj Singh

The big news of the day in the IPL auction was Delhi Daredevils' acquisition of Yuvraj Singh for a record sum of Rs 16 crore.
A bidding war between Dehli and Royal Challengers Bangalore took place for the left-hander, with the huge fee as the end result, according to the Times of India.
RCB had purchased Yuvraj for the 2014 edition of the competition but could not secure the talents of the brilliant Indian player this time around.
Last year, RCB bought the batsman for Rs 14 crore—which was a record at the time—as confirmed by the Times of India.

In other news, Kevin Pietersen will team up with England One Day captain Eoin Morgan for the Sunrisers Hyderabad after the pair were purchased by the IPL side.
Pietersen was captured for £205,000, per The Independent, with Morgan arriving after his decision to miss last year's competition due to his intention to win back his Test place for his country.
The 34-year-old Pietersen had played for Delhi last season, being their most costly player at £900,000, according to The Independent, but his value has significantly dropped this year.
Pietersen and Morgan will be joined in their team by Ravi Bopara, who was picked up by the Sunrisers for a base price of £100,000.
The England player took to Twitter to express his delight at being purchased:
All three players have much to prove, with Pietersen desperate to show he is still one of the best players in the game.
As the maverick batsman has shown in the past, he can be one of the most exciting players in the world, and this is what the IPL is all about.
Morgan has suffered a difficult time in recent months at the crease, but the free-flowing nature of the IPL will surely help his game as he looks for his best form.
