Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano Exchange Words in Final Laps of Sprint Unlimited 2015

Joseph ZuckerFeb 14, 2015

The 2015 Sprint Cup season is just one race old, yet tempers still managed to boil over after Saturday's Sprint Unlimited.

The spark that set everything off was Joey Logano bumping into the back of Kevin Harvick on the second-to-last lap of the race.

"He thinks he was helping, but you can't just drive somebody straight in the corner into the fence," said Harvick after the race, per ESPN.com's Bob Pockrass. "He kind of did the same thing to me at Talladega. I told him, 'The karma train is coming after you.' And it bit him right in the [butt]. I just didn't appreciate just getting straight drove into the wall."

You can view the incident in question below.

On the track, Logano contended that he was simply attempting to help Harvick along, per USA Today's Jeff Gluck:

As Gluck joked, it isn't officially NASCAR season until two drivers are at each other's throats:

Logano and Harvick have history with one another. The origin dates back to 2010, when they exchanged verbal barbs and traded plenty of paint on the track.

The fact that they got so worked up about something like the Sprint Unlimited illustrates the amount of animosity between the two.

This is unlikely to be the last time Harvick and Logano let their rivalry spill over onto the track. They clearly don't like one another, and emotions tend to get the better of athletes in the heat of the moment.
