Cesaro and Tyson Kidd Won't Get a Fair Shot at the WWE Tag Team Titles

Ceasro and Tyson Kidd have joined forces, but it appears they won’t get a fair shot at the tag team titles.

These two underutilized wrestlers formed an alliance late last year and created quite the duo to be reckoned with. Cesaro and Kid dubbed themselves “The Brass Ring Club,” a play on Vince McMahon’s comment that not many current WWE Superstars are grabbing the “brass ring.”

This “Brass Ring Club” is doing just fine in recent memory, defeating the New Day in a pre-show match at the Royal Rumble. In fact, this past Monday on Raw, they also defeated The Usos, the tag team champions, in a non-title bout.

Cesaro and Tyson Kidd have a lot of momentum, although they have a lot going against them. Granted, the tag team division can never have enough teams. Besides The Usos and the New Day, they have to contend with The Ascension for tag team supremacy.

The self-proclaimed Brass Ring Club has one thing helping them get noticed other than winning. Unfortunately, that comes from the division’s dwindling number.

The Dust Brothers, Goldust and Stardust, are on the verge of a family feud. The Miz already has problems of his own with his former stunt double, now assistant, Damien Mizdow. Moreover, both teams held the tag team titles for the remainder of last year. It doesn’t bode well when the last two teams fight after losing the titles.

Commons sense affirms that Cesaro and Kidd have an even better opportunity than before. However, they were doomed from the start.

Tyson Kidd and Cesaro won’t get a fair chance at becoming the WWE Tag Team champions.

Make no mistake, these two wrestlers have a well-honed craft. Kidd is arguably the best tactician in the WWE. Cesaro is a freak of nature, combining wrestling with his unparalleled strength.

They’re yin and yang: Cesaro representing the muscle, while Kidd is the high-flyer. It’s a prototypical tag team bound for success, on paper.

Frankly, all they have is their wrestling, and they don’t have the time to develop their characters under the main stage.

Take a look at the teams mentioned earlier. The Usos don’t just stand out because of their matches. They carry the tradition of their Samoan heritage, which includes their father and future Hall of Famer Rikishi.

The New Day consists of Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Their positive attitude separates them from the rest of the pack. They’re also good performers in the ring.

The Ascension is the new team of the division. They bash legendary teams like Demolition and the Legion of Doom while looking similar to them. Whether you hate what they do, they still stand out.

Even the Dust Brothers and the team of Miz and Mizdow stood out. Gold and Stardust’s flashy look distinguished them from other teams. Miz and Mizdow’s gimmick featured Mizdow mimicking Miz move for move.

This brings us to Cesaro and Tyson Kidd. Do they cut good promos? What separates them from the division other than their wrestling? Are you even going to remember their time as a team years from now?

There lies the problem. In a sea of characters, they’re bland. It’s not their fault, though. They’re just beginning, and the WWE Creative team needs to help them blossom in this division.

Don’t get your hopes up; expect “The Brass Ring Club” to be a forgotten moment in WWE history. Here’s hoping they can make a lasting impact and get their due in the spotlight.
