Apparently, ESPN Needs the NFL Preseason To Work Out Its Kinks As Well
With preseason officially underway last night, I felt the urge to write about football. I thought long and hard this morning about what to write.
Do I write about my team the Washington Redskins and their loss to the Baltimore Ravens?
Do I write about the Steelers?

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Or do I follow the crowd and write about Vick's signing with the Eagles?
Well I chose none of the above. Instead I decided to go on somewhat of a rant again the four letter station ESPN. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a so-called "hater" or anything like that. If I need a quick score, I flip over the ESPNNews, but their presentation of Monday Night Football (MNF) is horrible.
During timeouts and commercials of the Redskins/Ravens game, I flipped over to ESPN to catch the pseudo Super Bowl rematch. I could only watch a couple of plays.
For starters, that stupid bar at the bottom of the screen is useless and distracting. I find myself staring at it with contempt more than I find myself watching the game (I had this problem last year as well).
Also, not to brag, I have a very nice, very expensive HDTV and surround sound. The picture and sound quality of the game was horrible. Close-ups were crisp but the panned out shots during plays looked like they were coming in at standard def, not 1080p.
At first I thought maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me, so I flipped back to the Skins' game and Comcast Sports Nets coverage was crystal clear on panned out shots. You could see individual blades of grass it was wonderful.
So I flipped back to the four letter station and again I got crap. Someone, for the love of all that is holy, tell me how a local station can deliver a better quality presentation than the so-called World Leader in Sports?
Well that’s the end of my rant, hope you enjoyed it Loyal Reader. I'm hoping this was just a hiccup by ESPN since the Skins hosts the Eagles on MNF in October because now that I've gone HD I find it very hard to watch a game in SD.
